Shannon Murray

Shannon Murray (born 1976) is an Irish-born actress, writer, media lawyer, and consultant. She gained recognition after winning the first-ever search for a disabled model and becoming the first disabled model to feature in a high-profile advertising campaign for the British store Debenhams. Murray has appeared in several BBC and Channel 4 dramas, including Holby City, Casualty, and the BBC Doctor Who spinoff series Class. She also had a brief stint on the BBC soap opera EastEnders in 2018. In addition to her acting career, Murray is an accomplished writer and has worked in media law and consulting. She was born in Dublin and moved to London at a young age. Murray is the daughter of Frank Murray, the manager of The Pogues and Thin Lizzy. Despite being paralyzed from the waist down after a diving accident at the age of 14, Murray continues to pursue her acting career using a wheelchair.
