Sharon Forrester
Sharon Forrester (born 1956) is a Jamaican reggae singer known for her success in the 1970s and 1990s. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Forrester grew up in a musical family and started singing at a young age. She gained recognition after performing for tourists on Jamaica's north coast and later appeared on television alongside Richard Ace. Forrester was introduced to Geoffrey Chung, who produced her hit single 'Silly Wasn't I' in 1973. She also performed alongside The Wailers at the Ethiopian Benefit Concert that year. Her debut album, 'Sharon,' was mostly recorded in the UK due to a musicians strike in Jamaica. Forrester also appeared in the BFI film 'Moon Over the Alley' and participated in the Jamaica Showcase international tour in 1974.
