Shayne Elliott

Shayne Elliott (born 1963) is a New Zealand banker and the CEO of ANZ Bank. Prior to joining ANZ, Elliott worked as a senior executive at EFG Hermes and Citi bank. He joined ANZ in 2009 as the head of the institutional division and later became the CFO. In 2016, he took over as CEO, succeeding Mike Smith. As CEO, Elliott has been recognized for his purpose-driven leadership, advocating for the LGBTQI community and refugees in Australia. Elliott was born in Te Atatū South, Auckland, and attended Waitakere College and the University of Auckland. He is married to Najla, an economist from Egypt.
