Sheila Murphy
Sheila E. Murphy is an American text and visual poet, born in 1951 in Mishawaka, Indiana. Since 1978, she has been actively writing and publishing. Murphy is recognized for her notable works, including 'Letters to Unfinished J. Green Integer Press' (2003), which earned her the Gertrude Stein Award. In 2017, she was awarded the Hay(na)ku Poetry Book Prize for 'Reporting Live from You Know Where.' Throughout her career, Murphy has focused on the prose poem, particularly her innovative form known as the 'American Haibun.' She co-founded and coordinated the Scottsdale Center for the Arts Poetry Series for twelve years. Currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona, Murphy continues to contribute to the literary world.
