Sherry Lansing (born Sherry Lee Duhl) is an American former film studio executive. She is best known for her roles as the chairwoman and CEO of Paramount Pictures and as the president of production at 20th Century Fox. Lansing was born on July 31, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Margaret Heimann and real estate investor David Duhl. Raised in a Jewish household, she attended the University of Chicago. Throughout her career, Lansing made significant contributions to the film industry, being the first female movie studio head to have her hand and footprints placed at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in 2005. In addition, she was recognized as one of the 30 most powerful women in the US by Ladies' Home Journal in 2001 and was named number 1 on The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 list multiple times.
