Shin Lim Biography
Shin Lim, born Liang-Shun Lim on September 25, 1991, is a Canadian-American magician known for his exceptional card manipulation and sleight of hand skills. His captivating close-up card magic routines, performed to music, have gained him worldwide recognition. Lim is a self-taught magician who honed his craft by watching YouTube videos and has even shared his own techniques on the platform. Originally trained as a pianist, Lim switched careers after being diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. He gained significant attention after winning the 2015 Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques in Close-up Card Magic and has since toured internationally. His appearances on Penn & Teller: Fool Us and his victories on America's Got Talent in 2018 and America's Got Talent: The Champions further propelled him to international fame. Lim is the second child of Singapore-born parents and has Chinese ancestry.
