Shirley Chung Biography
Shirley Chung is a Chinese-American chef who gained recognition for her appearances on Top Chef: New Orleans, Top Chef: Charleston, and season 3 of the Food Network's Tournament of Champions. Born in Beijing, China, Chung immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. Inspired by her grandmother, who worked for the Red Cross, Chung developed a passion for international cuisine. After working in Silicon Valley, she decided to pursue a career in the culinary arts and attended culinary school. With training in classic French and Italian cuisine, Chung has worked for renowned chefs such as José Andrés, Thomas Keller, and Guy Savoy. In 2018, she opened her first restaurant, Ms. Chi Cafe, in Culver City.
