Sonia Nazario

Sonia Nazario is an American journalist known for her work at the Los Angeles Times. She has focused on social justice issues, particularly immigration and immigrant children from Central America. Born on September 8, 1960, in Madison, Wisconsin, Nazario won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing in 2003 for her series 'Enrique's Journey.' This groundbreaking work followed the perilous odyssey of a young Honduran boy seeking to reunite with his mother in the US. Nazario's book 'Enrique's Journey: The Story of a Boy's Dangerous Odyssey to Reunite with His Mother' was published in 2006 and became a national bestseller. She holds a master's degree in Latin American Studies from the University.
