Steve Broad

Steve James Broad, born on January 29, 1986, is a New Zealand singer, radio presenter, and politician. He gained recognition by participating in reality singing competitions, placing 5th on the second season of The X Factor New Zealand and 3rd on the second season of New Zealand Idol. Broad was born and raised in Invercargill, growing up on a sheep farm. He worked at H & J Smith as a teenager. Despite facing criticism from the media and the public, Broad persevered in his music career. He later competed in Pop's Ultimate Star and placed 8th. Broad studied law before switching to a teaching degree. He currently serves as a member of the Invercargill City Council.
