Steve Sands Biography
Steve Sands is an American golf television personality, best known as the lead interviewer for NBC's golf coverage. He also works with NBC's cable outlet, Golf Channel, as a studio host and play-by-play announcer. Steve interned at CNN Sports in 1990 and has been with the Golf Channel since 2001. He served as a speed skating reporter for the NBC Olympics coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Steve gained recognition during the 2018 TOUR Championship when he interviewed Tiger Woods on the course after Woods' 80th career PGA Tour win. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Steve remains a Washington sports fan. He graduated from Charles W. Woodward High School in Maryland and earned a bachelor's degree in technical journalism from Colorado State University in 1991.
