Steven A. Silverman (born April 25, 1954 in New Hampshire) is an American lobbyist, politician, and lawyer. He served as the Director of the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development from April 2009 until December 2014, appointed by Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett. Prior to this role, Silverman held positions such as Director of Aging, Health Care, and Special Projects for Maryland's Attorney General's Office, as well as Chief of the Consumer Protection Division. He also served two four-year terms as an at-large County Councilmember in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he chaired the Council's Planning, Housing, and Economic Development Committee and was twice selected as President of the Council.
