Susan Bysiewicz
Susan Bysiewicz (born September 29, 1961) is an American politician and attorney. She is currently serving as the 109th lieutenant governor of Connecticut since January 9, 2019. Prior to this, Bysiewicz held the position of the 72nd secretary of the state of Connecticut from 1999 to 2011. During her political career, she briefly ran for governor of Connecticut in 2010 but dropped out to pursue the position of Connecticut Attorney General. Her bid for the office was disqualified by the Connecticut Supreme Court. In 2011, she announced her campaign for the United States Senate in the 2012 election but lost the Democratic primary to U.S. Representative Chris Murphy. Bysiewicz also ran for governor in 2018 but withdrew to run for lieutenant governor alongside Ned Lamont.
