Susan Isaacs Biography
Susan Isaacs (born December 7, 1943) is an American novelist, essayist, and screenwriter. She is best known for her debut novel, Compromising Positions, which she adapted into a film. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Isaacs attended Queens College where she studied English and economics. She began her career as a senior editor at Seventeen magazine and later worked as a freelance political speechwriter. Isaacs is of Jewish descent and married Elkan Abramowitz, a lawyer, in 1968. She took a break from work to raise her children but continued writing articles and speeches as a freelancer. Today, she resides on Long Island with her husband.
