Sylvia Hoeks

Sylvia Hoeks (born 1 June 1983) is a Dutch actress and former model. She gained international recognition for her performances in films such as Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and The Girl in the Spider's Web (2018). Born and raised in Maarheeze, Netherlands, Hoeks attended the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts after completing high school. She is fluent in Dutch, German, French, and English, and has appeared in productions in these languages. Hoeks started her career as a model, working with Elite Model Management at the age of 14. She later transitioned to acting and had notable roles in the Dutch TV film Staatsgevaarlijk and series like Gooische Vrouwen and Vuurzee. Hoeks gained critical acclaim for her role in the film Duska (2007), earning her a Golden Calf award.
