Tanya Holland

Tanya Holland (born July 14, 1965) is an American celebrity chef, restaurateur, podcast host, writer, and cookbook author. She gained recognition for her expertise in soul food and competed on Bravo TV's Top Chef in its 15th season. From 2008 to 2022, Holland owned and operated the renowned Brown Sugar Kitchen in Oakland, California, which received national acclaim and multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand awards. Holland has authored two cookbooks, 'New Soul Cooking' and 'Brown Sugar Kitchen,' and her upcoming book, 'California Soul,' is set to be released on October 25, 2022. She is an influential figure in the hospitality industry, serving on the James Beard Foundation Board of Trustees and chairing the James Beard Foundation Awards Committee. Holland is also a sought-after public speaker and lecturer, leading conversations on inclusion and equity. In 2020, she launched the Tanya's Table Podcast and has released two seasons to date.
