Teddy Saunders Biography
Teddy Saunders, born Clarence Arthur Saunders on August 29, 1911, was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played 19 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) during the 1933-34 season as a member of the Ottawa Senators. Saunders spent the majority of his career, which lasted from 1930 to 1944, in various minor leagues. Notably, he played for the Ottawa Commandos, who won the 1943 Allan Cup. Saunders was traded to the Ottawa Senators from the Boston Bruins on October 4, 1933, and later traded to the Detroit Olympics on December 8, 1933. At the time of his death on May 21, 2002, he was the last surviving member of the original Ottawa Senators.
