Thomas W. Moore
Thomas W. Moore (September 17, 1918 – March 31, 2007) was an American television executive who served as the president of ABC from 1957 to 1969. Born in Meridian, Mississippi, Moore attended Mississippi State University and graduated from the University of Missouri. He served as a pilot in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, Moore worked as a spokesman for Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries before joining CBS Radio as a salesperson. He was later hired by ABC as vice president of sales before becoming vice president of programming. During his tenure as network president, ABC aired popular shows such as The Real McCoys, My Three Sons, The Flintstones, Ben Casey, The Untouchables, McHale's Navy, Peyton Place, The Addams Family, and Batman. Moore made headlines when he had Howard Cosell removed from ABC television on-air work in 1959.
