Tim Dorsey (born January 25, 1961) is an American novelist known for his series starring Serge A. Storms, a mentally disturbed vigilante antihero who enforces his own moral code against low-life criminals in Florida. Dorsey was born in Carmel, Indiana and raised in Riviera Beach, Florida. He graduated from Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, New Hampshire, in 1979. Dorsey attended Auburn University, where he served as the editor of The Auburn Plainsman. After graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor's degree in Transportation, he worked as a police reporter in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1987, Dorsey moved to Tampa, Florida, and became a reporter for The Tampa Tribune before resigning in 1999 to focus on writing full-time.
