Tim Samuels is an English documentary filmmaker, author, and broadcaster. Born on October 3, 1975, in Manchester, Samuels is known for his hard-hitting documentaries that tackle serious topics in provocative and entertaining ways. He gained recognition for forming the older people's rock group, The Zimmers, for a BBC documentary. Samuels has been a regular presenter on BBC television and radio in the UK. With three Royal Television Society awards and a best documentary award from the World Television Festival in Banff, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the industry. Samuels, who is of part Romanian Jewish descent, attended Manchester Grammar School and the University of St Andrews, where he began his journalism career at the age of 13 by interviewing Morrissey, the former lead singer of The Smiths.
