Tobias Beer

Tobias Beer is an English screenwriter and actor. He was born in Cambridge and studied at Oxford University and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. While at Oxford, he achieved a notable victory in the 1999 Varsity Match, scoring 11 points in rugby union. Beer has primarily worked in theatre, with credits including productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Cheek by Jowl, and the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park. In 2015, he returned to the RSC in Death of a Salesman. In 2019, Beer co-created, wrote, and executive produced the television drama The Deceived for Channel 5, Virgin Media Ireland, and Netflix. He is married to writer Lisa McGee, known for creating the sitcom Derry Girls.
