Tom Byrne Biography
Tom Byrne was an Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton and Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Born on November 7, 1908, Byrne began his career with Carlton in 1929 before transferring to Williamstown in the VFA in 1930. He played 39 games and kicked 33 goals for Williamstown from 1930 to 1933. In 1934, Byrne joined Fitzroy but did not play a senior match and finished the season with Prahran. He then joined Hawthorn, where he played 61 games and kicked 70 goals from 1935 to 1939. Byrne's football career spanned from 1929 to 1939.
