    Tom Silva, born in 1947, is an American construction contractor and television personality known for his involvement in the long-running PBS shows This Old House and Ask This Old House. He is a co-owner of Silva Brothers' Construction, based in Lexington, Massachusetts, which gained recognition for building the first set for The Victory Garden. Silva's construction journey began at a young age, assisting his family in building a fallout shelter under their Colonial family house. In 1988, he and his brothers became the permanent contractors for This Old House after being noticed by producer Russell Morash. Silva also contributes to This Old House Magazine and other publications. With over 30 years of marriage, Silva and his wife, Susan Silva, have two children. He partners with his nephew, Charles, in Silva Brothers Construction, which has been featured in various media outlets.
