Tom Steyer

Thomas Fahr Steyer (born June 27, 1957) is an American climate investor, businessman, hedge fund manager, philanthropist, environmentalist, and liberal activist. He is the co-founder and co-chair of Galvanize Climate Solutions, as well as the founder and former co-senior-managing-partner of Farallon Capital, a hedge fund managing $20 billion in capital. Steyer also co-founded OneCalifornia Bank, which later merged to become Beneficial State Bank. He served on the board of trustees at Stanford University from 2007 to 2017. Steyer is known for signing The Giving Pledge in 2010, committing to donate half of his fortune to charity. With a strong focus on climate change and sustainability, Steyer continues to be actively involved in environmental initiatives.
