Tomasz Schafernaker

Tomasz Schafernaker, born on 8 January 1979 in Gdańsk, Poland, is a Polish-British meteorologist known for his work at BBC Weather. He attended St. John's College, Southsea, in Portsmouth where he studied mathematics, physics, and art for his A-levels. Schafernaker furthered his education at the University of Reading, earning a BSc (Hons) in Meteorology. He joined the Met Office and trained as a meteorologist before joining the BBC Weather Centre in 2000. In the same year, he became a presenter, making him the youngest man to present BBC Weather. Schafernaker has also provided regional forecasts across the UK and presented on BBC World. He has studied aviation forecasting at the Met Office college and has briefly worked at ITV.
