Tony Dokoupil (born December 24, 1980) is an American broadcast journalist and author, known for his work as a co-anchor of CBS Mornings. He was also a news correspondent for CBS News and MSNBC. Born in Connecticut to his Czech heritage parents, Dokoupil's mother worked as a teacher while his father was involved in illicit activities. After relocating to Miami, Dokoupil and his mother moved back to Maryland where he attended Severna Park High School. He excelled in academics, graduating first in his class at George Washington University and later studying media studies at Columbia University. Dokoupil also showcased his talent in baseball, playing for the Bethesda Big Train in the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League.
