Tony Flynn
Tony Flynn is a rock guitarist known for his work with Steppenwolf and an unauthorized reunion of Deep Purple. He joined Steppenwolf in 1977 as a temporary replacement for Kent Henry and continued to play with the band until 1980 when the rights to the Steppenwolf name were regained by John Kay and Jerry Edmonton. Afterward, Flynn joined the 'new' Deep Purple, featuring original singer Rod Evans and other replacement players including his former Steppenwolf bandmates. However, the group faced legal issues and lost a lawsuit against former Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, resulting in a permanent injunction against Evans and his associates using the name 'Deep Purple.' Flynn's association with the band ended at this point.
