Tony Ross, born Anthony Lee Ross on 10 August 1938 in London, is a British author and illustrator renowned for his work in children's picture books. He is widely recognized for his Little Princess books, which he both writes and illustrates, as well as for his illustrations in the Horrid Henry series by Francesca Simon. Many of his books have been adapted into popular TV series, including Milkshake! and CITV. Ross has also collaborated with David Walliams and illustrated various other series, such as Amber Brown by Paula Danziger, Dr. Xargle by Jeanne Willis, and Harry The Poisonous Centipede by Lynne Reid Banks. Before establishing himself as an illustrator, Ross held positions as a cartoonist, graphic designer, and art director at an advertising agency. He attended Helsby Grammar School and later studied at the Liverpool School of Art and Design.
