Tricia Collins

Tricia Collins is an American art critic, art gallerist, and curator of contemporary art. She gained recognition as one half of the curatorial team Collins & Milazzo, co-publishing and co-editing Effects: Magazine for New Art Theory from 1982 to 1984. Collins ran several art galleries in New York City, including Grand Salon, Tricia Collins Grand Salon, and Tricia Collins Contemporary Art, until 2000. Born in Miami and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, she moved to New York City in 1979 and settled in the East Village in 1980. Collaborating with Richard Milazzo, Collins curated exhibitions that showcased a new generation of artists in the 1980s, shaping the theoretical context for a new kind of Post-conceptual art.
