Victor Chan Biography
Victor Chan (born 1945) is a Hong Kong-born Canadian physicist, writer, and founder of the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education. He has been acquainted with the 14th Dalai Lama since 1972 and has co-authored two essays with him. Chan is also known for his guide to pilgrimage in Tibet. After leaving Hong Kong at the age of 20, he pursued his education in Canada and the United States, specializing in particle physics. In 1971, Chan embarked on a van journey through Europe, eventually being joined by Cheryl Crosby and Rita. Their harrowing experience as hostages in Kabul ended when their captors' vehicle crashed. Chan currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
