Victor Costa

Victor Costa (born December 17, 1935) is an American fashion designer. He gained international recognition in the mid-1970s for his ability to replicate high-end European styles at affordable prices for his American audience. Alongside Christian Lacroix and Arnold Scaasi, Costa is considered a significant contributor to the current trend of flamboyant and super-feminine dresses that emphasize bare shoulders, a fitted waistline, and billowing skirts. He founded Victor Costa, Inc. and Victor Costa Bridal, and was a designer for various large retail outlets throughout the 1990s. Notable clients of Costa include Betsy Bloomingdale, Brooke Shields, Ivana Trump, Lady Bird Johnson, Rosalynn Carter, and the daughters of President Richard Nixon.
