Victoria Williams
Victoria Williams (born December 23, 1958) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician from Shreveport, Louisiana. She has resided in Southern California for most of her musical career. In the 1980s, Williams collaborated with her then-husband Peter Case and released her own debut album, Happy Come Home, in 1987. She gained further recognition with the release of Swing the Statue in 1990. Williams has frequently performed with the band Giant Sand and appeared in Gus Van Sant's film Even Cowgirls Get the Blues in 1993. Early in her career, Williams was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which led to her becoming the catalyst for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.
