Vincent Tan

Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, born in 1952, is a Malaysian Chinese businessman and investor. He is the founder of Berjaya Corporation Berhad, a diversified conglomerate listed on the Malaysian stock exchange. With stakes in various industries, including internet-related businesses, water utilities, media, retail, and telecommunications, Tan has established himself as a prominent figure in the Malaysian business sector. In 2010, he entered the Forbes billionaire list with an estimated net worth of USD 1.6 billion. Tan's success can be attributed in part to his close association with influential Malay political figures. Born in Batu Pahat, Tan initially planned to study law but began his career as a bank clerk due to his father's struggling business. He later ventured into private trading companies.
