Wally Dunn
Wally Dunn (December 4, 1911 – April 21, 2004) was a Canadian-born Thoroughbred horse trainer. He began his career in horse racing in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he worked with Thoroughbreds. During the 1930s, Dunn took his horses to race at Santa Anita Park in Los Angeles. His training career was briefly interrupted by World War II, during which he served overseas with the Canadian Army. After the war, Dunn returned to California to train horses. One of his notable Thoroughbreds was Correspondent, who won the 1953 Blue Grass Stakes and the 1954 Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes. Dunn had four horses compete in the Kentucky Derby and two in the Preakness Stakes.
