Walter Scheib

Walter Stanley Scheib III (May 3, 1954 – c. June 13, 2015) was an American chef known for his role as the White House Executive Chef from 1994 to 2005. Born in Oakland, California, Scheib grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. With a mother who was a fan of French and Spanish cuisine, Scheib developed a passion for cooking at a young age. He honed his skills by assisting in the kitchen and eventually became proficient enough to prepare all the family's meals. In his teens, he worked in local restaurants. Scheib's culinary career took off when he was appointed as the White House Executive Chef, where he served under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. Unfortunately, Scheib passed away in June 2015.
