Will Hurd

William Ballard Hurd, born August 19, 1977, is an American politician and former CIA clandestine officer. Hurd served as the U.S. representative for Texas' 23rd congressional district from 2015 to 2021. Prior to his political career, he spent nine years with the CIA. After an unsuccessful run for Congress in 2010, Hurd successfully ran in 2014 and was re-elected in 2016 and 2018. Throughout his tenure, Hurd gained recognition for his expertise in technology, cybersecurity, and his bipartisan approach. Hurd, originally from San Antonio, Texas, announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president in the 2024 election on June 22, 2023, but dropped out on October 9, 2023, endorsing Nikki Haley.
