William Peden
William 'Torchy' Peden (16 April 1906 – 26 January 1980) was a Canadian cyclist. He gained recognition for his achievements in six-day racing, winning 24 out of 48 races in a span of four years. Peden competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics as part of the Canadian team, participating in three events. After the Olympics, he continued his cycling career in Europe before returning to Canada and turning professional. Peden won five titles at the indoor Canadian championships in Montreal and set a record in 1932 with 10 victories. He was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1955 and the BC Sports Hall of Fame in 1966.
