Wylie Dufresne

Wylie Dufresne (born 1970) is a renowned American chef and owner of Du's Donuts. He is best known as the former owner of wd~50 and Alder restaurants, both located in Manhattan. Dufresne is a leading figure in the molecular gastronomy movement, which focuses on incorporating scientific techniques into food preparation and presentation. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Dufresne graduated from Friends Seminary and The French Culinary Institute (now known as The International Culinary Center) in New York. With experience working under Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Dufresne honed his skills and eventually opened his own restaurant, wd~50, in 2003. Throughout his career, Dufresne has been recognized for his innovative approach to cuisine.
