Yue Qi
Yue Qi is a Chinese-born American nanotechnologist and physicist who specializes in computational materials science. She is currently a professor at Brown University. Qi gained recognition in 1999 when she was awarded the Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology for Theory, alongside William Goddard and Tahir Cagin, for their work in modeling the operation of molecular machine designs. She completed her double B.S. in materials science and computer science at Tsinghua University in 1996 and obtained her Ph.D. in materials science from the California Institute of Technology in 2001. Qi's research has focused on molecular modeling, nanowires, binary liquid metals, interfacial tribology, and multiscale modeling of aluminum plasticity.
