Yue Qi

Yue Qi is a Chinese-born American nanotechnologist and physicist known for her expertise in computational materials science. Currently serving as a professor at Brown University, Qi has made significant contributions to the field of nanotechnology, particularly in the area of molecular machine designs. In 1999, she was awarded the Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology for her groundbreaking work alongside William Goddard and Tahir Cagin. Qi obtained her double B.S. in materials science and computer science from Tsinghua University in 1996 and went on to earn her Ph.D. in materials science from the California Institute of Technology. With a focus on interfacial tribology and multiscale modeling, Qi has garnered recognition for her research in aluminum plasticity during her time at General Motors Research and Development.
