Yves Rossy

Yves Rossy, born on August 27, 1959, is a Swiss military-trained pilot and aviation enthusiast. He gained fame as the inventor of experimental individual jet packs, including the latest model that utilizes carbon-fiber wings for flight. Known as 'Jetman,' Rossy has demonstrated and tested his jetpacks in high-profile events worldwide. Rossy began his career as a fighter pilot in the Swiss Air Force, flying aircraft such as the Dassault Mirage IIIs, Northrop F-5 Tiger IIs, and Hawker Hunters. He later worked as a pilot for Swissair and Swiss International Air Lines, piloting Boeing 747s. Rossy's innovative wingsuit system features semi-rigid carbon-fiber wings powered by four Jetcat P400 jet engines, leading to his various nicknames such as 'The Airman' and 'Rocketman.'
