Finney Blake, a shy thirteen-year-old, is kidnapped by a serial child killer and confined in a soundproof basement. A disconnected black rotary phone begins ringing, enabling Finney to hear the voices of the killer's earlier victims. With their guidance, he attempts to outwit his captor and escape alone before dawn.
