Lisang Pacidal Koyouan, popularly known as A-Lin or Huang Liling, is a Taiwanese aboriginal singer and songwriter of Amis descent. She was discovered at the age of 16 after teaching children to sing in the aftermath of the 1999 Jiji earthquake. A-Lin signed her first singing contract four years later and quickly gained commercial success. Often referred to as the next A-Mei, another influential aboriginal singer, A-Lin covers A-Mei's songs in music shows and concerts. She has earned the nickname 天生歌姬, meaning 'A Born Diva.' A-Lin has won numerous music awards and enjoys immense popularity among Mandarin-speaking audiences.
