Aaron Spelling (April 22, 1923 – June 23, 2006) was an American film and television producer, occasional actor, and the most prolific television producer in US television history. Born in Dallas, Texas, Spelling was the son of Russian Jewish immigrants. He began his career producing successful TV series such as Family, Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, Dynasty, Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, 7th Heaven, and Charmed. Spelling also produced The Mod Squad, The Rookies, and Sunset Beach. With 218 producer and executive producer credits, he holds the record for the most in US television history. In 2009, Forbes ranked him as the 11th top-earning deceased celebrity.
