Adam Yauch Biography
Adam Yauch, also known as MCA, was an American rapper, bass player, and filmmaker. He was born on August 5, 1964, in Brooklyn, New York City, and passed away on May 4, 2012. Yauch was a founding member of the legendary hip hop group Beastie Boys. In addition to his musical contributions, he directed many of the band's music videos and took on promotional photography under the pseudonym Nathaniel Hörnblowér. Yauch also founded Oscilloscope Laboratories, an independent film production and distribution company based in New York City. He actively supported the Tibetan independence movement and organized the Tibetan Freedom Concert. Yauch's life was tragically cut short by parotid cancer, leading to the disbandment of Beastie Boys.
