Adjoa Andoh Biography
Adjoa Andoh is a British actress known for her work on stage, television, and film. She has played lead roles with prestigious theater companies such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre, and the Almeida Theatre. On television, Andoh has appeared in popular shows including two series of Doctor Who, the long-running medical drama Casualty, and BBC's EastEnders. She made her Hollywood debut in Clint Eastwood's drama film Invictus, portraying Nelson Mandela's Chief of Staff Brenda Mazibuko. Since 2020, Andoh has gained recognition for her role as Lady Danbury in the Netflix Regency romance series Bridgerton. In 2022, she was honored as an honorary fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Born in Clifton, Bristol, Andoh grew up in Wickwar, Gloucestershire, with her English teacher mother, Ghanaian journalist/musician father, and brother.
