Adrienne Jo Barbeau (born June 11, 1945) is an American actress, singer, and author. She gained recognition in the 1970s as Broadway's original Rizzo in the musical Grease and as Carol Traynor on the sitcom Maude. In the 1980s, she appeared in notable horror and science fiction films such as The Fog, Escape from New York, Creepshow, and Swamp Thing. Barbeau also voiced the character Catwoman on Batman: The Animated Series and other animated shows. In the 2000s, she had a role in the HBO series Carnivàle as Ruthie. Born in Sacramento, California, Barbeau has Armenian, French Canadian, Irish, and German heritage.
