Ahmed Malek

Ahmed Malek, also known as Ahmad Malek, is an Egyptian actor. He gained recognition for his role in Mohamed Diab's Clash, the opening film of the Un Certain Regard section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Malek has also appeared in notable films such as Sheikh Jackson (2017), Hepta: The Last Lecture, and La Tottfea El Shams. In 2020, he portrayed his first English-speaking role in the Australian film The Furnace, where he showcased his language skills in Dari, Pashto, and Badimaya. This performance earned him a nomination for the 2021 AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Recently, Malek appeared in the 2022 film The Swimmers, which depicts the lives of Yusra and Sarah Mardini.
