Aideen O'Kelly (5 September 1936 – 22 April 2015) was an Irish actress known for her work in stage and television. Born in Dalkey, a suburb of Dublin, she began her acting career at the Abbey Theatre after being sent to the Aran Islands to improve her spoken Irish. O'Kelly starred in notable productions such as The Plough and the Stars and The Playboy of the Western World. In 1982, she received a Drama Desk Award nomination for her performance in Othello. She also portrayed the Mother Superior in a Dublin production of Agnes of God in 1984. O'Kelly's talent and contributions to Irish theatre will always be remembered.
