Takehisa Yamaguchi
Akira Yamaguchi (山口 晃) is a Japanese contemporary artist born in 1969 in Tokyo, Japan. He grew up in the city of Kiryū, Gunma Prefecture. Yamaguchi received his B.A. (1994) and M.A. (1996) in oil painting from the Tokyo University of the Arts. He is known for his unique painting style that combines contemporary oil painting techniques with the traditional Japanese composition style known as Yamato-e. Alongside his paintings, Yamaguchi has also produced drawings and ukiyo-e. He has exhibited his artwork worldwide and is represented by Mizuma Art Gallery. His notable works include the cover art for the album V by United Future Organization and illustrations for Chronicles of My Life: An American in the Heart of Japan by Donald Keene.
