Al Trautwig, born on February 26, 1956, is a sports commentator who has worked with various networks including MSG Network, ABC, NBC, NBC Sports Network, and USA Network. He is known for his pre-game and post-game shows for the New York Knicks and New York Rangers, as well as filling in as play-by-play commentator for both teams. Before his television career, Trautwig served as a stick boy for the New York Islanders and a ball boy for the New York Nets. He graduated from H. Frank Carey Junior-Senior High School in Franklin Square, NY. In the 1980s, he hosted USA Network's coverage of the National Hockey League and gained attention for his off-beat features like interviewing a water fountain.
